Pacific sea level anomalies from ERS/Envisat altimetry (equator)

This page shows the time-longitude diagram of the sea level anomalies observed by ERS/Envisat altimetry along equator. Clearly visible is the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO), including the 1997/1998 El Niño event. Kelvin waves can been seen propagating eastward close to the the equator.
