Pacific sea level anomalies from ERS/Envisat altimetry (20°S)

This page shows the time-longitude diagram of the sea level anomalies observed by ERS/Envisat altimetry along 20°S. Clearly visible are the westward propagating Rossby waves, with decreasing velocities towards higher latitudes.
